Ceremony can be life changing.

Deeply personal ceremonies that invite you to fully inhabit life's threshold moments.

Peter Lloyd

Hi, I'm Peter.

I believe there is a power to ceremony that can change one's life.

Some moments in our lives carry more weight than others: a marriage, a new life, a goodbye, a letting go. In these threshold moments, we are called to slow down and be present to something ending, beginning or changing. Ceremony gives us a way to meet them with intention and inhabit their possibility.

I'm an interfaith minister and marriage celebrant, and my role is to help create and hold that space with you. To find the words, stories and rituals that feel authentic and rooted in who you are, while leaving space for something deeper to emerge.

What I offer

There are many moments in life that call for ceremony. Whatever the occasion, we'll work together to create something meaningful and authentic.

How I work

I think of myself as the holder of the spirit of the ceremony.

My role is to create the conditions to cross your threshold moment with intention. To walk alongside you and guide with gentleness and care.

Each ceremony I do is unique: that begins with listening and asking questions. I want to understand what matters to you and help you articulate the intangible something at the heart of the ceremony, whether that is the love and commitment of a marriage, or the grief and release of saying goodbye to someone you love.

Alongside all of that there are the practical considerations. I take care of the logistics, including the legal side as a registered marriage celebrant. I'm a believer in practice. I will be there for the rehearsal! I take seriously the responsibility of representing you well so that you have an experience that feels authentic and touches you in a real way.

"The spirit and love of a ceremony will always be knocking - wishing to come in, sometimes in the space of where we aren't thinking too much."

Kind words

'Sincere' is the most common word that I have heard about our wedding ceremony. 'Sincere' in the way it was delivered, 'sincere' in the way it was expressed. 'Sincere' also explains Peter's approach to the whole event. In a no-nonsense way, Peter helped us to carve out the foundations of our ceremony and to discover in each other what we wanted to celebrate on our day. We are so happy that we chose Peter to be our celebrant. He is genuine and spiritual and really helped to guide us on our wedding day.

Peter was very much part of the journey we embarked upon together in the months leading up to our wedding day. By gently guiding us through the questions we needed to ask of ourselves and of each other, we reached a deeper understanding of our love and commitment. Our wedding ceremony was moving in its purity and simplicity and we have emerged from our experience spiritually changed and feeling that we really did get married.

We would like to thank you for helping make our day so special. The ceremony brought grown men close to tears, we've heard it said… your words, prayers and guidance helped create an occasion that was spiritual, and through which we could express our heartfelt feelings for each other, without being in any way sugary or sentimental.
